Truism Care (U) Ltd

This is a little some thing iam trying to develop for an NGO called truism. They basically have only Cyan as their color & they insist on having a monochromatic Logo. Since they deal mostly with children affairs. My 1st trial is that!!....... waiting for your criticism & advice in order to make this project a success.........THNX!

advice? i dont think advice is going to help this. we dont even know what the goal of the logo is.

is it SUPPOSED to look like a child created it? then it probably needs to be much rougher and not simply drawn with the paintbrush from your illustration program. i would suggest drawing it with a marker on paper at about the size of a walnut. then scanning it in and autotracing it then manually cleaning up the paths.

another thing to consider is a term i use called "utility work" which refers to day to day stuff that simply pays the bills. and for whatever reason, be that ridiculous client mandates, or short timeline or whatever, doesnt justify the piece as something to go in a portfolio or presented to the public as an example of your work...

this is probably one of those pieces.

Question, and I mean this seriously- do you go straight to the computer when working on logos?

Don't.

Start with a mind map made from research of company product, history and audience and build sketches dedicated towards goals that honour and respects those you serve. If you boot up a computer and find a font you like you won't get anywhere. Logos need attention and detail through love and hard work. Typically speaking I say a computer is a tool, as is a sketch book but some need to be used in conjunction for the best results. Starting in a sketch book works your mind more because there's less shortcuts and things don't look like the end result from the get-go. You can easily see if an idea has value when it doesn't have polish slathered on it :)
