New user-contributed brainstorming site

Inspired by wikipedia, and by my constant need to brainstorm various ideas, I've spent the last year working on an entirely user-contributed brainstorm site located at brainstormproject.net

I finally released version 1.0 this morning, and I'm wondering if I could get some fellow creative types to try it out and provide any feedback.

Let me know if you find it confusing, spot any glitches, any thing you'd like to see, etc. Thanks!

Looks great. I'm confused as what I need to type in the What's on your mind field?

Hmm... guess the brief introduction doesn't explain it very well? The idea is it's like a group brainstorm session online.

Of course there's hardly any entries yet, only about 300 contributions so far.

I'm thinking I should include examples or instructions....

Well that was a big let down.

Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Hmmm... needs some fine tuning. Looks like a badly redesigned chat forum to me.

admittedly, ive not fully explored the site yet. but based on the description, i have to say that im getting a bit tired of the "open-source" / "crowd-source" mentality.

from a design perspective, the brainstorming part of the job is often where the knowledge and experience comes into play. and thats what people get paid for.

im not sure i want to sort through a bunch of half-witted input to my own projects. and im damned sure i dont want my clients (several of whom wouldn't know a good idea from a bad one without extensive hand-holding) going to a site like this to get the key inspiration for their next marketing effort...

i often wonder if things like this contribute to the watering down and even break down of what used to be a respected and lucrative endeavor...?

- just because you can. doesn't mean you should.

just a thought... or even a "brainstorm" : )
