Needin' some feedback...

Hi ya'll. I'm trying to come up w/a logo for a shirt company I'll be launching soon. I'm a screen printer by trade, and have limited GD experience. All feedback is welcome. Thanks.

Okee doke. Thanks for the feedback. I've tried incorporating ya'lls advice. Does it look any better?

I know what you mean about the word NOTHING, like it gives them the option to say nothing...

This line of shirts will actually be geared towards recovering addicts/alkies.. Most of us have been characterized by all or nothing (black/white) thinking, so I'm really shooting for this niche, not so much the genereal public. Beleive it or not, theres millions of us out there... :)

I like it. The only thing I would try, since you're going wide with 'APPAREL' anyways, is to flush justify those two lines to the 'ALLorNOTHING' text. OR repeat 'APPAREL' blue on blue so it's treated more like a pattern or watermark. OR have nothing up top except the blue bar and flush right 'APPAREL' sans the big strech and bold and enlarge slightly.

All I see are a bunch of letters... as suggested, try screening back APPAREL. The main font is alright, but not great... It needs something, push it.

You have a lot of competition, so you'll want to stand out. This could work, but is it going to rise above the other stuff out there? Hmmm...

- too much apparels (I would use only when must be necessary like a web addresses)
- don't like small caps and capital combo > you lose power during the reading >
you read as a hiccup or a roller-coster scream.
- the semiotic: "Nothing" seems so stronger as "All". I don't like this naming. You give a chance to be answered: "NOTHING, thanks". Remember Matrix: " Causality. Action, reaction. Cause and effect." =]

2nd logo presentation comments:
Not liking my suggested flushing of text here. As noted by qwertyale, either lose it all together, or larger, flush right and bottom only with a more moderate kern.

And in my humble opinion I preferred the lower case 'OR'...especially when it comes to rendering the logo in black and white. It will assist in differentiating the words...if that is how the name of the line works...

exactly

usually if we make this lettering all small caps for clothes, you will target women

if you make so strong lettering, it'll atract males.

It's not a rule, look Zara, Rauph Loren and other giants.

better if we know the target gender and age.

sometimes these blue lines make the brand enough strong, like a stamp mark. =/

seems much more smooth and gained 10 years of youth. =]

you will apply as tag/label, then make tests with embroidery to be a strong lettering, ok? maybe you'll need a bit more strong font.

you could experience a bolder "OR", I don't know but you know, each one has a style to make the things happen or no according the target ;) and maybe you could get ahead and delete the blue shapes =]

There may be millions of you out there, but how many would want to wear a shirt announcing it to the world?

Good point in regards to advertising it ot the world. Eitherway, wouldn't you rather have the opposite of the black and white mentality showing that they have in fact healed and moved on?

The logo is very bland, you need to step it up a notch or two. It needs to stand out more, be more attractive!

Have you considered that it IS a good way to find a drinking partner?

Well thanks for the feedback, for the most part. I'll keep working on it...

As for the content of the shirts, guess you will have to wait and see. FYI, I'm not planning to put "IM A DRUNK" on them, though that might be a good seller :-)
