Logo4 my GD business

I wished to name my company after myself, but I believe my English market would have trouble pronouncing my last name 'Yeung'.

I still wanted to incoporate my name so to do this, I had to analyze my name. 'Yeung' when translated phonetically means lamb, a word which whilst the English speaking auidence would be able to pronounce, still link back to my family (Yeung) and my Chinese heritage. To add the family ties, my mother's maiden name is Lam, a word stunningly similar to Lamb. So it would be a nice tribute to both sides of my family. I then continued to branch out from that. I eventually came up with the name 'The Creative Lamb'.

Here a few questions:

Q. 01 : In the picture - line 1 - Which logo and font look the best? I personally like 1B. First, because I like the combination of colors - grey + pink. Second, the logo looks good in both white / dark background!

Q. 02 : In the picture - line 3 - Some people suggest I should call it 'Creative Lamb' instead, they say sounds more fluent but I think if I take the 'The' out, the overall of the logo looks less 'powerful' I perfer to have 3 words or only one word. So whats your opinion?

Thank you very much!

I like your thought process with this and I'm digging the origami concept. I think your presentation of this in color is a little distracting... could we see how you'd execute this as line art?

Thank you gnasm! Here's my logo in grey scale, line and color.

The first one at this link. In the grey. For SURE.

Regarding the name, you might want to think of how it's going to read in copy:
"The Creative Lamb design service is your..." vs "Creative Lamb design(s) is your..."
I like the logo better with the 'The', but the copy probably works better without.

I like the name, I thinks its quite memorable.

I think 'Creative Lamb' looks better without the 'The' at the beginning, but keeping lamb and creative as two separate words.

The lamb looks too big.

If I had to pick one from the first line it would be the second one because the grey text in the first one gets lost against the black background.

I am new to this design thing, but that's my two cents.

No amount of technology can save a bad idea.

I like the origami idea. But why is the butt of the sheep a different colour? Wouldn't it be one piece of paper? I'm totally ignorant to origami so what's your reasoning behind this?

I'm going to print it out and eat it.

You're totally over thinking this thing imho. What you have here are basically 12 different versions of the same logo. The first one in the upper left works fine - as others pointed out - the origami aspect would limit the lamb color to one since it would be folded out of one sheet of paper (although technically, origamists use two sided paper sometimes - for simplicity's sake, I say go with one color).

I go with "Creative Lamb" for the name.

On the black only version, try making the one ear a knockout just to see if it works better.

Done. Don't kill yourself.

I think that it looks best with two colors because the logo is modeled after origami and origami paper has two sides, usually of different colors, and you know... just want to be creative...

B 01 - the whole thing is kind of cute.

I like the 2 colour look. But, on the line art and black versions get rid of the shadows and glows. If you were going to print these small you would need something with strong lines.

Stay with "The Creative Lamb" it gives the name purpose as if you are talking about a specific entity rather that a generic thing.

Request - could we see the lamb in 2B on the grey background with the text in blue, in this same font? I think the pinks most effectively capture the idea of origami paper having two different 'sides', without adding confusion regarding different colored body parts. I like this font (especially the 'L'), and I think the blue text might show nicely against the grey.

I love blue but I think pink text looks better with the logo. I also added green, because it looks like the lamb walking on the grass :p

oh yea I think I'm going to name it 'Creative Lamb' instead...

I like the green, but I was talking about the all pink sheep.

"Creative Lamb" for the name IMO...I like 1b as well and would be curious to see what it would look like having every fold the opposite color. The ears and the other leg in pink and the tail in white would make sense if it the paper has two colors. I also agree the mark is too overpowering and should be downsized. Adjust your kerning and maybe play around with some more font options...Nice work overall! The one color logo works very well too.

I would refrain from only colouring the back leg and bum. It kinda looks like someone spanked the poor lamb. That being said I would pick 1A without a shadow of a doubt.

Still looks like it's been spanked or had its bottom shaved. If you're gonna keep it pink do it all in pink.
