Water Company Logo

This is a logo designed for a company which supplies water to homes. I wanted to stay away from waves/droplets/the 'obvious' as much as I could, remaining corporate but still looking modern.
The shape has been taken from the inside of the 'a' letter... not sure if thats obvious enough, or if it even needs to be.
Would REALLY appreciate some honest feedback and constructive criticism from others!

The logo is pleasing to the eye, but doesn't say water. I see a leaf, I see a pill. I like the font though, and the colour palette is very nice.

I really like the design and colors, it's just not south east water's logo just yet. They don't have ownership of the mark yet, if you know what I mean. I would like to see you integrate the wording into the symbol somehow.

The color sceme is nice, it looks like water.
But the logo it self doesn't say water... some of the letters in the font are nice (E, A) but the T, W and the R are horrible to look at.
I see a Pill or a Eye.
I like that you don't use the dripping water, that would b to obvious indeed..

The pill is not working. For one thing - why is it sideways? In that position, it doesn't say "water drop" nor does it match the inside of the letter "a". This looks like one of those "concepts" where you notice the inside of the "a" looks like a droplet and that becomes the "idea" - but really it's not an idea. It's just a coincidence that really doesn't go very far when it comes to logo design. Maybe you can work with it and prove me wrong - start by making it vertical - the way a drop actually falls. And KERN - this looks like straight type to me. Tracked out lettering needs kerning too.

The reason for the sideways composition is I thought it looked too 'long' when vertical. and still looks like a pill unfortunately, vertical or horizontal. But here is it in vertical form...

I've tried spacing out the two shapes and it looks like there is a type of 'wave' between them? Still looks slightly pill-like... And have tried the shapes in lots off arrangements... Hopefully this works...

I really liked the font but agree it needs some definite kerning.
And initials-wize... the S.E.W don't look very nice together I don't think.. but happy to try anything!
I like this horizontal version because the center seems like compass that show southeast :)
but I think something is needed to became a winner logo :)
first, I hate this font.
the logo is dense but the typo is thin... something wrong.
the client works with heavy galoons, I think bolder is better.
the top element (logo) is so heavy for the logotype.
try not align the two elements, put right a little up

I have played with the weight of the font and I feel like it looks a lot better when its a bit thinner? Also made the 'w' pointier, and kerned the letters.

Really think I need to stick with a sans to keep modern feel, but like how its elongated rather than the 'o' being circular I like that its long.. kinda like the logo!!

That's the way... Your logo was ICED and now we look that the water drops have MOVEMENT, GRACE. We need a bit more freedom yet.
*** I like the horizontal dark blue shape because it represents SOUTH EAST, I think you have to maintain focus on this one and try to play with it ***

Just wanted to say, qwerty, that your English is improving! I'm very impressed. I tried to learn Russian once and it made me suicidal, it was so difficut, so...to borrow from another language as we Anglophones so often do, bravo.

The text now looks more like a water comp. but I'm not shure on the drops, why 2 drops? and not one? still looks like pills, why not flip one and then put them back to back? heart shaped? or 6 drops? or 9?
Seriously loving the amazing feedback, it's crazy how much an idea can develop with some help.

The two drops was really just an experiment, I think it looks 'better' than one on its own, and the heart shape I don't think represents the brand, either does the heart shape upside down looks like a pair of lungs. But I guess the pill like shape doesn't really either...
Will keep trying though!
* Oh and qwertyale, do you mean the point of the vertical dark blue shape/horizontal light blue shape which seems to be an arrow pointing southeast? I agree its important too unsure how to highlight it without being ugly and obvious.

you can make all other drops but maintain the southeast one on dark blue :)

Your project suits my work focus this week. I'm working for a publisher that specializes news pertinent to "the world of water," as they call it.
One of the first things this client and I discussed were clichéd images in the water business. Water droplets - UGH! So first of, let me congratulated you on avoiding that.
However, I believe you've got a gel capsule here -- a cliché in another business (pharma) -- that's a detraction for you. It could be that shaping the shape of the capsule just a bit -- but not into a droplet! -- would help, but why not try a rectangle or something unexpected?
As to the font, I actually rather like it. If you changed the shape of your capsule, though, the rigid vertical emphasis of the font might not work as well.
I look forward to seeing a second design from you, since this one seems to have generated mostly "close, but no cigar" comments here.

Hello inspiration. Now I'm totally feeling it. Allow me to help you solve two problems - fix the drop and make the type your own. First create a new symmetrical drop using the flat side of the drop for both sides. Replace the interior letter "drops" with the new shape (I would try it in the "O" in "south" as well - just to see if it works). This should alter the font just enough to give it a little character.
Now take your new drop and the flower design from before and follow them to the logical conclusion - you're very close to pure genius. Trust me - I already worked it out - it's beautiful.

Not quite sure about the flower shape, I feel like its on the same level as the pill with relevance to water. But it definitely looks better thats for sure!

So close you've probably already found it by the time I finish typing this.
I was also wondering if south east should be one word... southeast?
The company is set as two words 'south east' but I guess theres nothing wrong with putting them together for design sake.
