3. Thou shalt not clutter.
4. Thou shalt not overuse glassy reflections.

6. Thou shalt worship at the altar of typography.
7. Thou shalt create immersive experiences.
8. Thou shalt be social.
9. Thou shalt embrace proven technologies.
10. Thou shalt make content king.

Guilty of number 13 then.

About 12

If done right, 12 really isn't a bad thing :D.
Kinda the same with 11... unless the video is holding the user up and they have no choice but to find a skip button or sit through it. A video at the top of the page never hurt anyone... XD

About #11...

I'm referring to "start pages" that have nothing but a stupid-ass Flash video of a stupid logo spinning around for 20 seconds telling me what I'm going to be able to read if the video ever ends... ;-)

With regards to #11. I don't mind clever navigation, as long as it is absolutely clear that it IS the navigation, and it's absolutely clear how to use it. It pisses me off when I see 15 colored boxes that are 20x20 pixels and the only way to see where clicking them will take you is to mouse over them. I just leave the site. Don't make me THINK and HUNT so hard about how to find what I came to the site for to begin with, you know what I mean?!

My additions...

A. The web is not print, nor TV.
B. Motion graphic design is not the same as static design.
C. "Click here for more" is not interactivity.
D. The web is not print, nor TV.

One more addition from me...

Thou shalt not treat clients like they're dumb because they don't know industry terms.
