Photoshop CS3 Program Error

Guber's picture

Hi all,

I'm having some trouble with an error when I try to use the Warp Text tool in PS CS3... As soon as I try to commit the Warp, I get an error message that says "Could not complete your request because of a Program Error.", and the type reverts to it's un-warped state. I'm running a Mac Pro on OSX 10.5.3 with 2x2.66 Dual-core Xeons and 4GB ram, if that helps.

Thanks!!!

I'm not replicating that

I'm not replicating that error. Does this happen if you change the font involved?

Hmmm...

Could be anything from a dodgy font, to lack of (or corrupt) memory. I'd delete the PS3 preferences and reboot or failing that do a reinstall of CS3 to be honest.

FWIW I can't replicate the error. Although I'm sure it's happened to me in the past (It turned out I had a couple of corrupt memory sticks, but that was probably a coincidence).

Yeah, I've tried changing

Yeah, I've tried changing fonts and tried it in numerous documents as well, just to make sure... Guess I'll try and see if I can clear preferences and reboot. I'd love to not have to re-install!

Ole!!! Problem solved. After

Ole!!! Problem solved. After an update to 10.5.4 and some wrestling with Suitcase Fusion.

Ditch Fusion; go FontExplorer

Fusion has had lots of issues with CS3. Why not go Font Explorer? It's free and I've used it 4+ years with no issues:

Aaah yes...

The old Suitcase Fusion problem. Lot of issues there... I've gone back to X1, purely because I think it's more reliable.

Yikes! Have you tried

Yikes! Have you tried FontExplorer yet? I don't think you'll ever go back to Extensis once you try FE.

I'd be happy to try it out, but...

I work for a marketing company where the software is supplied, and expected to stay the same. I'll check it out for my system at home though. Thanks!
