Microsoft embarrasses itself again

They failed with Seinfeld badly, then they tried a different approach, which also didn't work. The Songsmith ad was the ultimate fail. As an Apple user I can't stop laughing, as an adman I can't stop crying.

Now, they reach out to the holy grail of advertising: "When all else fails use kids or puppies". The first ad shows a cute little girl creating a typically horrible Powerpoint presentation.

Can't wait to see what the puppy will do. Wait, I have an idea: I think for the dog should start windows media player, then fart to rhythm while dancing in a funny hat. Yes, that will make me buy Windows 7.

Are you kidding me? I mean really, are you f#cking kidding me with this? Please tell me that this is a fake. Please tell me this is a joke by some creative director at MS's agency. Please tell me that all the great designers and creatives in the world that are out of work because the dolt that made this commercial is still employed!

Ugh!

No kidding. I saw this yesterday while watching football (American). Felt like they really missed the demographic.

What the f##k was that?! Is "The Final Countdown" more some sort of irony than a build up?

We have to be honest about this new round of commercials. First of all - in advertising, when you steal the tagline from your competitor (I'm a Mac and... "I'm a PC") that's called SURRENDER. You've already given up the fight and you're just hoping for a close second place finish. Secondly, is this commercial really any worse than the last round from Microsoft? If you remember, in the previous "I'm a PC" ads - they were actually PAYING PEOPLE TO BUY PCs!

I prefer Teletubbies.

I'm pitching to MS tomorrow. Writing the proposal tonight. Once they've paid me, I'm buying a Mac.

That was horrific.

If you keep your ears open, you'll see better.

LOL but the music is epic. I love how Microsoft is running itself into the ground now.

The only thing that makes that Songsmith ad even remotely tolerable is that the little girl is using a Mac. You can even see part of the logo (tip of the apple leaf) at the top of the sticker in the middle. A comment on YouTube called these tells to my attention. I think this might have been the product of infiltration. We have a mole in Microsoft!

OMG, that last one? "More happy is coming?"

I need a drink.

What a cheap shot by M$! They can't figure anything out so they throw a cute young girl out there who speaks like a cute child and throw some puppies and kittens and hope that people fall for it! Weak!

Hmmm... I'm more shocked that anyone would believe this commercial is real. I can't stand MS, but they have a larger advertising budget than this.

I've seen a few rather embarrasing commercials from these guys, but I can't help falling in love with this commercial they made:

You see Windows commercial bashings all over the internet, but after having seen this I'm confused :)
