Nah, we don't care about IE :lol:. Actually, I didn't even realize that I had saved it as a png. Maybe I'll fix that. :)

But in all seriousness don't many of you see web design opening WAAY up and getting crazy cool as soon as we don't have to support IE5/6 and have the ability to use pngs with alpha channel where ever we please. It boggles my mind.
Yes, but apparently MS is working on a new IE seriously as far as I heard. I think even they realised that the difference is becoming embarrasing. Just the fact that they still don't have tabs and they still don't support CSS fully blows my mind.

They are finally getting their asses in gear after recent netcraft stat showing mass migration away from IE to other win browsers like firefox. They may be releasing the new version before longhorn just so they can compete somehow. The day we will all know IE is beyond rediculously outdated is the day that Dell packages PCs with Mozilla. Lets hope it does not come to that.

Recently got an iBook (a huge upgrade over my old eMachines desktop) so I'm new to OSX. Been reading CB for a while now, and now I've joined the forum.
baseboard is a mac design hub with many many talented members. heh.. we've been around long enough to have a few virtual fistfights (a mark of a longtime communty), so if you visit.. be prepared to find many odd things in the "off-topic" forum. guests can visit, but not post.. if you want to see some killer desktops, visit the galleries.
i'm not a designer, but a learner who plays PST there. there are many other skills represented among the membership.

I piggy-backed my way to the blog and thought I would try something gutsy and different and just go ahead and register to the forum. What's different is I have very little knowlege of design, colors, graphics, etc... just about most of what's here, I also think I have another strike against me and that is I have and use a PC, not good?
I dont know how much I can contribute, I CAN be optimistic since I dont know most of what goes on, but I can tell you I will try to contribute and not just be a lurker.

Thanks for the nice welcome. I guess the shoe is on the other foot because now I'm in the minority. That's ok, I might be able to catch what other people have been trying to turn me on to for awhile now. I've been closed to any possibility of defecting to the other side until a month or so ago, I've been disgusted with the whole thing.
I hope you're not expecting some computing wiz, because that I am not. I'm currently studying C and tinkering with programming for the Palm. It's more of an interest and something to keep me thinking. With the occasional help of a few nice people I've met on the Net, I'm really enjoying it. If it takes me a few years to get to where I want to be - I'll be a few years older anyway.
At any rate, I look forward to grasping what I can. BTW: This is the first time I've been mistaken for a guy, but again this is the Net. 8) (really- not a problem)

Hi guys, I'm a friend of Ivan's from another forum. I came here because I enjoy the tips so much. One of Ivan's first tips for straightening the horizon, I use almost daily at work. I am always pleasantly surprised at the fresh tips he keeps finding. I work doing pre-press and design at a newspaper/commercial printing house. Hi guys, I'm a friend of Ivan's from another forum. I came here because I enjoy the tips so much. One of Ivan's first tips for straightening the horizon, I use almost daily at work. I am always pleasantly surprised at the fresh tips he keeps finding. I work doing pre-press and design at a newspaper/commercial printing house. Currently we are keeping an eye on Mount St. Helens which is a scant 40 miles south of us. We lived 20 miles from it when it erupted in 1980 and it seems to be less dangerous this time. It's nice to see such a diverse mix of people from all areas of the globe. :)
