Massage Therapy Center Logo

Hi, everyone. I've been wonderfully busy lately, which is why you might have forgotten I exist. If you do remember me, perhaps you'll also remember my sister-in-law's challenging logo requirement for her business. The name "Anam Cara" is Irish Gaelic. Her schedule of therapies tends toward traditional Eastern massage. She wants to unite those two cultural influences in her logo. She wants it to be blue and green. I posted an early effort a while back. This is an improvement, I believe. Your comments last time were very helpful. Your thoughts now?

Somehow, I'd like to see a redesign of the flower/knot to make it more iconic. Newly designed icon would be center piece of the logo. I think you effectively blended eastern and irish design, and interested in seeing more.
The fonts aren't as well thought out as the logo mark. ]
My two cents.
Agree 100% with caoimghgin. The mark is coming along, but the text 'isn't there'. I would keep away from both the Celtic and eastern faces (even though that is what her practice is centered upon) and run with a more simple font. Initial thought is that it is too busy and there is a lot of pull for attention between the mark and text.
For the mark, I would drop the two larger "curlies" and increase the celtic knot stem...it will work to simplify the mark plus balance out the lotus floral. And then I would choose which to make the dominant: the mark or the text...right now there is a tension.

Gotcha. I'll play with this some more later today. I hate the fonts, actually. They're much too "see and say," if you know what I mean.
Question: would you consider placing the Celtic knot/lotus blossom mark between the words Anam and Cara, proportionally smaller of course?
Man, this thing is driving me nuts.

Hmmm. But probably not.
Suggestion...
See about picking up a few Yoga magazines and a Kripalu schedule. The magazines have the look and feel you're going for. The companies who advertise in them (Yoga Matts, Yoga Clothes, Yoga Retreats, etc.) also have a style about them that should work well in this industry.
Besides, it's nice to get out of the house and browse the magazine store. ;-)
Out of the house? I hardly ever see my house these days! Out of the studio? Ah yes -- I live for my afternoon bookstore/café break :-) I'm familiar with the usual yoga/body work "look," though, actually. I have several clients in the business and have used such services all my adult life. My client wants her logo to be different from what you commonly see. I'll fresh my memory of what's out there, though, to bring myself back from the edge of the cliff, where it seems I'm otherwise headed ;-)

"Soul Friend", the translation of Anam Cara, seems a wonderful name for this kind of business. I'm feeling the logo wants strong, clean, modern lines. Since the client is not a stranger to you, I'm hoping you have some some influence on logo direction.
Good luck!
There is no hierarchy, the name, Wellness services and the mark all scream for attention, and it looks like there are too many styles going on too....

Yes, I see what you're saying, ladylee. Thanks for the input.

Glad you said you hate the fonts so I don't have to. :-)
