Isn't this a UK shoe company logo that's been around for a few years?
nope, i wouldn't have seen "crushe" if you hadn't told me. i saw "aushe."
and why two registration marks?
ronk wins. Why are you posting an already established mark?

Sorry to cause so much confusion – I'm new at this.
This is my assignment for a design class. Improve on an existing logo design, hopefully.

sooo... you should be posting *YOUR* work for a critique, not asking use to critique the current logo.
Yeah,I have a couple of pairs at home, maybe they are pitching for a re-design job or something?
What is your motive in posting the Cushe logo here? (For those who aren't familiar with the company and it's branding, you can check it out here: http://www.jamesandjames.com/htmlfiles/prodpages/cushe.htm )
Are you planning a guerilla attack on their marketing department, and need us to arm you with criticism of their existing mark?
Dude. Weak.

A+ for thought process. Good way to brainstorm.
Do your own work-throughs though, man. That's the only way you're going to learn. And have fun with it.

Thank you for clarifying your motive in posting the Cushe logo. When you have done your thinking and feel you have an improvement, I'd like to see what you've done. Asking other people to do the critical thinking for you is not how you learn to be a designer.
It may be how you get to own a multi-billion-dollar advertising agency, but that's another story.... ;-)

Loved that! Thanks, Mara. And as how Norm from Cheers so succinctly put it one time, "It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and I feel like I'm wearing Milk Bone underwear."
What some won't do...
Cheers.

That's a great Cheers line! I don't remember having heard it before. I'll be using it all day tomorrow now. God knows I'll probably have enough opportunities -- the world's full of straight men for lines like that lately.

This needs a lot of refinement. The letterforms look crude and hand done, and aren't legible either. Do this in black and white (no gray!) in order to work these issues out.
