LOGO FOR MY PART-TIME FREELANCE BIZ

I came up with the name, MAUPASTUDIO, by combining my street and studio. I registered my domain and decided early on to use only one "S" in the name. I want to go with the look of a street sign to connect with the name. I have tried several versions and rough drafts and am now at this point. I have 6 variations and need any and all suggestions on this design concept. I feel that I have created more trouble by eliminating one of the "S"s but I did not like the way "SS" looked in the middle, negative connotations there. Appreciate your comments. Thanks.

What about Studio Maupa? Also, do you want to be tied to that name if you move to a different street?

It doesn't seem to roll off the tongue as well as MAUPASTUDIO. I just bought my house in an awesome neighborhood and look forward to living here for many years.
I work 45-50 hours a week as a designer for a marketing firm so it is only used for small freelance work. Thanks for the post.
Well, Maupastudio doesn't exactly roll like butta' either... But glad you're sticking to your guns in spite of asking for advice. :\P

Not sure I love the tag line. Creative street seems rather pedestrian (parden the pun).
Have you tried anything non literal for a graphic device? If you are tied to the street sign image could you pick up on the typography of the street sign and leave the rectangular shape behind? Try BlueHighway or some iteration of the actual type face used on street signs.
I think dropping the S could be problematic logistically. Think about the guy filling out a fed-ex slip to send an overnight package... Will he send it to Maupa Studio @ 1234 Maupa St? Not life shattering, but something to think about.
Also, combining the 'S' between the words comes across a bit too 'cute' to be taken seriously. Could be that I am a bit jaded... Take this last one with a grain of salt.
Actually very practical, and something to think about, IMO.

As I said the last time you posted these... Sorry man. I'm not a big fan of any of these. It's a tough thing when you have two words share the same letter. Maybe consider not doing that so that people can understand your name.

It's looking that way. I may take an earlier suggestion and try StudioMaupas to correct that "S" issue. Still want the logo to connect somehow with the street. On another note, great work! I checked your site and you have some solid designs, I like.
Thanks for the nice words, man.
As for the logo, I don't mind the street idea, but you will never get over the double "S" issue.
And you will always have to explain to people whats going on.

I like the colors and feel of the design on the right side better than the street names.
If you were a retailer the street sign look might be something to consider ("location, location, location"), otherwise it just feels a bit cliche...
BTW My two cents is to never let a URL dictate your path. They're pretty cheap if you want to switch.
:)
True. I actually like the right side myself.
One thing I would think about when thinking of a concept is the word "MAUPA". Think about its culture and where it comes from...research that. That may give you a slant on a concept.

I agree and that is always the first thing I do. Maupas is French and related to the area of houses where I live, hence the street name as well. It used to be a plantation and now is a neighborhood of buildings from the early 1900's. That's about it. Thanks for commenting.
