logo for camera based vision inspection company, " PROPIX"

Hi,
The main product of this company is in camera based vision inspection system. Company name "PROPIX TECHNOLOGIES PVT. LTD."
"O" is for aperture & four corners is for ROI (Region Of Interest, In image processing it is necessary to give particular area as a ROI for inspection).

Pl. suggest

Thanks,

Ashwin

I'm really, really bored by this logo.

The font for propix is not working for me. Further still, the "i" is badly kerned to the "p", which isn't a good indication....

The reverse text bar at bottom is very dated. More like a 1980's vinyl sign shop freebie logo rather than the work of a dedicated graphic designer.

Neither treatment of the "O" makes the mark any better and either will be a nightmare for reproduction on business cards or smaller. I understand where you're going, but it's been done too often. Unless you have a new, brilliant take on the aperture theme, avoid it entirely.

The four corners are a very bad idea. The mark itself should define it's own boundaries.

I'm sorry I cannot find anything complimentary to say about this effort so I have to recommend scrapping the idea altogether. On the other hand, there are plenty of businesses with bad logos that do well for themselves.

Take my critique with a grain of salt, or the entire shaker with a margarita if it feels any better.

Cheers

It is not our job to design a logo for you. and send you "samples" NO SPEC WORK.

If you don't feel that you're a designer, maybe you should be telling your client to go seek additional designs from another company.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it really is the truth

Find a designer. You wouldn't hire a designer to do your software development, would you?!

i agree. this comes across as trying too hard to be too much. especially the 4 corners thing. anything that esoteric just doesn't add much.

Your concept is definintely too 'boxed in' and generic as caoimghgin said. Try to do without the black bar as well.

Try different concepts and think farther down the road. Here's some tips to give yourself limitations, which thereby stimulates your creativity:

1. Work in black and white, no color
2. Make your logo scalable so it works at very small as well as at very large sizes
3. Come up with an icon and a logo type that can be used together or separately. Mixing them limits you down the road (ie. when you do a website for the client and they want a favicon, you're stuck using the O with the aperature insinuation).

Show us a NEW concept, not just a rehash of the old one. This one isn't working. Sorry.

Feels like it needs contrast. Font choice isn't working. You could try taking out the aperture icon on 'propix'. Play around with the elements that you have and see what you'd be able to come up with.

As noted above, the aperture has been overused.

Go beyond the obvious physical aspects of a camera and toy with the photography process itself--the optical spectrum, refraction of light, negative portrayals, etc. Delve into the theories of light.
