Working very nice Waleed, good job.

My only concern would be the footer, if I can call it that, of the letterhead. I don't know if white on yellow would really come out well. Less you've printed a copy out and checked it under the light. Other than that, I really like the style.

Hi Waleed,

Over all looks good. Few things from me. Any reason for the color used? If not how about basic colors of CMYK? I know you are not a printer. Visiting cards looks good, only one thing in the Latterhead gray lines looks little old fashion. How about as it is like Visiting card. Also yellow color band with white lettring, please take care of the readability.

Finally over all good job.

Thanks Abdul & Natesan

- The yellow is actually 100% Yellow + 5% Magenta. The contrast with white is weak, but it's readable enough. Not to mention, the information is PO Box which is not used a lot.. Almost not used at all..

- The colors used are the colors in the logo, RGB + Y... To me, digital photography + involvement and commitment. CMYK colors include colors different from the logo, however, I'm using RGB in the CMYK color space.

- The gray border is just an extension of the original rectangle in the logo and I was thinking of containing the letter I'm writing.. That part is really puzzling for me as it won't go anywhere on the top.. I'll experiment more with the logo at the bottom..

Looks awesome Waleed,
My only concern was the yellow, but you've already answered that one ^_^

Great stuff!

How would you all feel about removing the text in the yellow box? Off-balances things a little?

I would make the bottom color bars narrower (vertically) like on the card. Then put the text in grey above or below them. Or even put the text on it's side like on the card.

As for the grey border, instead of wrapping it around the whole page, how about using it as part of the logo as on the card.

Great logo! very "friendly" design.

this may or not be an issue. Whenever I design a letterhead for a client I need to consider the that design only enhances the overall functionality of the piece. Will it need to be xeroxed or faxed? Is the legibility heightened or lessened by color? Knockout type on yellow, specially at smaller point sizes, needs close attention.

Other considerations would be the printing requirements and the related costs. Is this 5 spot colors or is it process? If it's process inks then the small knockout type is going to suffer. A quality letterhead stock is still going to suck up a lot of ink to get the colors saturated. With the layout shown, a die cut may be needed to maintain accuracy of the trim-out -- that will add some cost to the job.

My opinion is that your logo is really succesful, but the color bars compete with it and take away the visual focus. The color bars do not relay any content or information, and they decrease the legibility of the type. Precise typography may be a better solution, and a good typographic design should compliment the logo. The color in the logo is what makes it 'sing', much like a Miro' pictograph, and that's where the emphasis should be.

Bleeds on letterhead always end up causing me trouble in the end, especially when sending PDFs for others to print. You may want to have a second version of your design, without bleeds, so that your clients can get a nice looking version on their own printers. To that end, I second the motion to think about B&W reproduction - I'm not sure how stellar this will look in shades of grey.
