Hello

I am very new to Adobe Illustrator and trying to design a logo for my son's preschool. Could someone tell me how to change the look of this logo so it looks like a toddler? or any other suggestion. Thank you for your time.

my main thought when looking at this is that it mirrors what i've seen in a whole bunch of children's hospitals. it's very generic because of that.

this one (a hospital i've done charity work for) jumped right into my head when i saw this.

a child in block form, with a heart and stars. yours is a little more stylistic, but it's really the same concept.

You have to work More with the type, try to compliment it with the mark. Look for more idea, do at least 20 paper sketches, and once you have at least 5 solid ideas, then use illustrator. What is your design background?

I think it's okay. I just think the concept is overused. I like the message, it's like the child is taking the nurturing he receives with one hand and reaches for the stars with the other... just overused. Think outside the box.

And like Dsauna said, work on the type.

What if you hand draw the illustration as per Ivan's suggestion "toddlers are chubby. heads are large proportionately. large eyes." Draw it in a similar style to gwells attached logo. Only draw it in b/w. Then scan it in as a b/w tiff, place it in an Illustrator document, select it and do a live trace which you will find at the top of the menu bar as a button of sorts. You may have to play with the adjustments. Then you can hit the "expand" button and select sections to fill with color.
