"File of Life" Notice Decal

"File of Life" Notice Decal

Well my first post is a basic one :-)

This is intended to be a notification sticker that the resident inside the home has what is called a "File of Life"

It is developed as a front static cling decal 4x4 in size.

I intended it to be able to be viewable from a distance, and kept it two color to keep cost of printing at a minimum.

I put a white outline to have a bit of contrast between the two colors to make the decal stand out a bit more when it is placed on a window.

The white space is intended for the resident(s) to mark where their "file" is located.

Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks!

-Eric

Nice post after Pieces of life, now File of Life...

I like the cornering of the square, makes it less like a red block.
Did you draw the snake yourself? Isn't the head suppose to be ending right of the stick?

The word FILE could move a little bit to the right, for the rest I think that the typo for the text Madison Ambulance etc. is hard to read, use a font like Helvetica like they use in the mayor Hospitals. Now 911 looks not very readeble from a large distance.
Succes!

Reminds me of the work I did at the Post Office while in college. A "work experience" piece was required for each student's final portfolio presentation, so mine was a sign that said "Please Do Not Throw Cigarette Butts into the Urinals". The instructors loved it - got an "A".

This works for me. Don't know what else to say except tag it and bag it.

Liked the idea, I never saw something like this in my country.

Thanks for the comments, I did not draw the Caduceus sign, it is actually from a royalty free medical symbol source that we purchased years ago for postings, announcements etc.

I realize it is much below the work of most everyone here, however I truly appreciate the feedback!

I re-uploaded the file with the changes suggested. I agree the font is much easier to read, and I put a bit more spacing between "of" and "life".

Much improved to my untrained eye!

I prefer bolder.
The normal font lost pregnancy.

Yes Bold would be better.
Now the spacing is a bit too much.

I decreased the spacing, and made the font on the bottom a bit bolder.

You may also want to put the text 'File is Located:' a bit to the right so that he letter L is a bit more of the edge and then make the white bar a bit smaller. :)
And then hit the PRINT button.. nice sticker!

I might suggest one thing - The "File is located" line can be smaller since that doesn't need to be read from a distance. So you could make reduce the size some, put it above the white box (and maybe even flesh it out fully: "The File of Life is located...") and then you could extend the white box out to the left edge as well - giving the owner more room to write.

And just fyi - we all have to do stuff like this, Every job is important. Well... at least every job with a paycheck attached to it. ;-)

I don't know why, but a comment I made here yesterday has disappeared. That's happened to me three times recently. Weird.

Anyway, I wanted to point out that this would normally be considered a one-color (not two-color) job, if printed on white vinyl.

I also wanted to suggest that the fill-in box might be a little small. Try writing something like "Top right drawer of desk in blue bedroom (across from upstairs bath)" with a Sharpie and see how it goes.

This is the first time I've heard of a program like this. It seems like a really good idea. Is this Madison, Wisconsin? Wouldn't surprise me. They're very progressive.

Hey Mara,

Thanks for the recommendation, I am making the changes now!

This is actually Madison, Connecticut. We are a smaller Ambulance service, however the File of Life Program is something that has been quite successful in town. We have many elderly patients that probably should not be living at home anymore, or have early on-set dementia and cannot remember their history or medications. Heck, I probably couldn't remember everything some of our patients are on these days!
