I'll make a poll about it later in the week..
Maybe Ivan can get some statistics for us =)
that would be great.
i mean, i know the majority is on mac.
but still, knowing how many are on windows is usefull regarding tips and articles that are platform specific.

Must be tough to live in this day and age if you're afraid of change. The whole world is changing every day.
I am on Windows, but I am not afraid of changing. It is just that I can't afford a MAC right now, but as soon as I can, beleive me "I WILL BURN MY XP BOX" and get me an iMAC

Actually you're PC already has a MAC, what you can't afford is a Mac. :)
I guess I forgot 5 months ago to say which I'm on. I'm on a Mac, always and forever. Just ordered my Mac Pro actually!! ^_^
I am finally on Mac, not an iMac as I planned, but I think my MacBook Pro should do it.

At home I have a PC, due to the fact that I've had it since I began getting into design and it hasn't really needed replacing... but I use Macs all day at school and I help maintain the Mac network there, so honestly I'm using a Mac more often than the PC, hehe. Once the Adobe apps are available for Intel Macs, I'm definitely making the switch to a nice new shiny iMac. :-P
New poll is up.. Just for you Flub-Dub..
hehe
thank you very much.
actually the stats ivan gave us are almost half half.
i expected more users to be on mac.
we'll see how the vote goes,
because visitors are certainly different from active forum users.

I think more than half of the regular members are on Mac, but the stats include single time Windows visitors from google too, who may end up on a cb page.
not afraid of change but I am afraid of working on a wintel machine. Not saying that windows doesn't work but from what I have seen at the office they are always working on them. my mac just works.

I'm on a windows machine, but every other day I'm on the apple site...counting the days until I can pick one up. I'll probably go MacBook Pro, I love new technology and seeing things change.
But mostly, I love the Mac operating systems. I have used them extensively through school, and we have a dual mac here at the office that I get the priviledge to use now and then for some vid editing etc. The OS is designed with designers in mind. In my experience, I've found it's very thorough, with a nice face on it. Two great qualities.
MacBook Pro, here I come.
Currently using a powerbook 15" G4 and a Rev A 20" iMac, both with 2gb's of ram, switched about a year and half ago, just less. Still have a windows laptop knocking around though incase theirs ever a time i need it, not needed it yet :-)

The last PPC iBook rev that was made ...
I've been using Macs at work and PC at home since 1987. I do have 2 Macs at home but I rarely use them. My PCs are mainly used for web surfing and for serving files - not that Macs can't do that - it was just the best way to go at the time. My file server's motherboard supports up to 8 IDE devices so the it was the cheapest way to go.
I remember my first week on my PowerBook. I was so lost in OSX I didn't know where to go. Then something clicked. I used to administrate an XP Network of about 20 PCs. At the same time I was managing an inhouse creative department (all on XP machines - graphic, web and video.) I spent most of my time fixing network problems, spy ware and virus issues and unsavvy user problems.
Since I've moved to Mac I've experienced flawless network integration (including Windows Network.) You just click connect. On the XP machines you had to go through how many clicks again? Countless, excluding the "restarts" because the machines crashed or failed to load drivers. Oi Vey!
I do use a Windows machine now and again to test websites in IE - since IE fails to serve the CSS community appropriately.
After 8 months of OSX I get lost in the XP operating system. It's non-intuitive, clunky and complicated. OSX is a dream. My favourite function is expose - document switching is so much faster.
I love my Mac.
I much prefer sitting under the apple tree to staring out the window. Windows Users - Maybe it's time to come out and play!
(Admittedly I had to break the bank the get setup on the Mac. That might also be because I left the world of pirate software behind when I swopped.)
If you keep your ears open, you'll see better.
I use mac both at work and at home. I have a G5 Quad at work and the 15" iBook G4 at home. Since I started College, I have rarely used PC's although my final year, which was spent at Uni, only used PC's.
I much prefer the mac setup, so much easier and straight forward. PC's tend to bore me as I am always left to find files which are hidden in numerous sets of sub-folders.
Mac all the way ;)

The Mac operating system is beautiful and streamlined, compared with clunky, chug-along Windows.
